Important Update: Preschool Transportation Services (2026–2027 School Year)

Dear Families and Community Members,

The Regina Early Learning Centre would like to inform families and community members of an important change to our preschool programming.

Due to ongoing funding shortfalls and increasing operational costs, van transportation services will not be available for the 2026–2027 school year. This change takes effect June 30, 2026.

This has been a very difficult decision. Transportation has long been an important part of our program, helping ensure that children and families can access consistent, high-quality early learning opportunities. However, like many non-profit organizations across the sector, we are experiencing significant financial pressures. Rising costs related to staffing, fuel, maintenance, and insurance, combined with limited and reduced funding, have made it no longer financially sustainable to continue operating this service.

We want to be clear: this decision is not a reflection of the value or importance of transportation. Rather, it is the result of broader funding challenges impacting non-profit early learning providers. Across the sector, organizations are being required to make difficult choices to ensure that core programming can continue within available resources.

Our priority remains the sustainability of our organization and the continued delivery of high-quality early learning experiences for children and families in our community. While transportation services will no longer be offered, we are committed to supporting families through this transition wherever possible and will continue to communicate any updates as they become available.
